Beneficial for Future Careers:

Latin is an important language to understand for the advancements of careers in the fields of law, medicine, computer science, and education.

Aulus Cornelius Celsus, a scholar from the Gallic Roman Empire, laid the outlines for the Latin medical vocabulary in the first AD. Therefore, almost all of the modern medical terminology derives from Latin. Studies show that medical students with a strong background in Latin classics have enhanced performance as a skilled practitioner.

In addition, current legal terminology can be traced back to Ancient Rome, where Latin was the prominent language of the law and government. From “habeas corpus” to “subpoena,” many of these legal terms are actually Latin in origin, stemming from legal frameworks that are still being used today for governance and justice systems.

The study of theology can also be enhanced with knowledge from Latin. Much of the writing of theology was written in Latin, and it is best to understand the pure form of literature without any translation.
